Answer: Collective Climb is a Black feminist organization empowering BIPOC teens through restorative practices. We do this through three programs: The Restorative Community Project (RCP) RCP is a 6-month fellowship that pays young people $1200 to co-author a research report (Phase 1: Participatory Action Research Project); become trained restorative circle-keepers (Phase 2: Restorative Justice Summit); and create and present an original lesson for the next cohort of the Restorative Community Project (Phase 3: Building the Restorative Community). We aim for participants to complete RCP with improved social-emotional skills, college and work readiness, an expanded support system, and a commitment to make West Philadelphia a more restorative community. Youth Advisory Board After completing the Restorative Community Project, young people may serve on our Youth Advisory Board to shape the programmatic future of RCP. In this role, the Youth Advisory Board will decide the next Participatory Action Research Project, plan field trips for the current cohort of RCP participants, and organize Collective Kickbacks. Collective Kickbacks Change often starts with a conversation. Collective Kickbacks are free community-based dialogues led by current and former RCP students. This forum grants our trained circle-keepers the platform to facilitate inter-generational restorative circles that elevate issues relevant to them. With the brilliant minds of the young people guiding our work, Collective Climb will spark a culture of healing, not harm in the broader community through our existing programs and our future developments.
