Answer: Cogswell Gallery is a fine art gallery located in the heart of Vail Village. Cogswell Gallery began from an immediate attraction to the basic essence of Native American jewelry and art. John and Patrice Cogswell started their first store in Colorado Springs in 1973 and later opened their first Vail store in 1976. The Cogswells' success in the Native American art world led them to further expand in their knowledge of the arts. They opened a Southwestern fine arts gallery, The Parke Gallery, originally named after their daughter in the winter of 1980. The gallery housed some of the finest in Southwestern paintings, sculpture, and prints. The demand for fine art in the Vail Valley prompted a decision to expand the gallery and rename it Cogswell Gallery after a new addition to the Cogswell family. In 1985 the Cogswell Gallery relocated in Vail Village to The Creekside Building beside the picturesque Gore Creek. This added space, in concert with John and Patrice's worldwide travels, gave way to the expansion of the entire scope of the gallery. Cogswell Gallery continues to maintain an eclectic collection of western bronze artists, western and impressionist painters, jewelers, imported and antique furniture, vintage photography, weavings, pottery, and Native American antiquities.
