Answer: Clean Water for Haiti (CWH) is a non-profit organization with branches in the US, Canada and Haiti. We exist to provide the people of Haiti with access to treated water at the household level through the building and installing of biosand water filters. We believe in development that encourages our beneficiaries to be part of the solution. With that in mind, we run a subsidized filter program where families pay a small co-pay to purchase their filter. We've also chosen a filter model that can be produced in Haiti, allowing us to provide employment for local Haitians and to encourage the economy by purchasing materials locally. Our program is effective and the largest of it's kind in all of Haiti. Over the years we've installed over 27,000 filters, and over 95% of them are still in use after the first year. We're proud of those results and keep striving to be a consistent, reliable resource for Haitian families.
