Goodman and six city council members. City Manager Mike Janssen, who was appointed by the city council, oversees administrative duties and the citys more than 3,000 employees. Covering 133 square miles, the city of Las Vegas is building a world-class destination to showcase the best in arts, culture, entertainment and medicine by expanding the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas with projects like the World Market Center and Symphony Park.
