Answer: COS is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children the language of music for two generations. "Our child-centered teaching approach is unique," says Executive Director Yeou-Cheng Ma, daughter of the orchestra's late founder, Dr. H.T. Ma. "Each individual child enjoys the benefits of music making in a supportive environment. From the day a child auditions, COS designs a program tailored to each students temperament and learning style." Members are given the opportunity to perform in orchestral and chamber music concerts with well-known musicians as well as with their peers. COS provides a safe haven for all children, and contributes to its members communities through performances for civic and cultural groups. We have 4 orchestras, several chamber music groups, classes in music theory, ear training, rhythmic articulation, sight reading. New classes include mallets and bars, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, to complement Elite String Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble.
