Answer: Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Bristol County, created in July 2007, is a private, 501c(3) non-profit agency. Based upon a national, child focused evidence-based model, the CAC provides a coordinated response to child abuse. Services include forensic interviews, health exams and consultations, and referrals to mental health and other support services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities who have been victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse and witness to violence. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), comprised of law enforcement, Department of Children & Families (state child welfare system), District Attorneys office, Massachusetts Pedi-SANE program and community-based agencies, the center provides direct services to children and families from any of the 20 towns and cities in Bristol County, Massachusetts.
