Answer: About Our Schools In the late 1800's, the Camden City Public School System became a reality. Some of America's most well known and renowned citizens are graduates of the Camden City Schools. Today, our K-12 school district numbers approximately 15,000 students attending 20 elementary/family schools, one middle schools, two traditional high schools, two magnet high schools and one nontraditional high school. District educational programs include computer-supported classroom instruction, well-defined curriculum and instruction for average, academically talented and special needs students, as well as, specialized study in allied health and the creative and performing arts in the magnet high schools. A full range of school-to-career education is available to our students, including work experiences. Traditional college preparatory programs compliment all high schools. All district schools value the importance of community service and engage in community-oriented projects and programs throughout the school year. The district supports the education of the whole child. Extracurricular activities serve to underscore the district commitment.
