Answer: It Is Our Mission, from all of us at DRIPS, LLC / Big Bags USA to assist individuals and communities in defense of flood waters and to help minimize property damage. In specific, the communities that are prone to flooding in the past, will flood again sometime in the future. Stockpiling BIG BAGS USA barriers in strategic locations can greatly reduce response time required to deploy and protect your property. The BIG BAGS USA barriers have been used all over the country, providing flood protection, stream diversions, coffer dams, retention ponds, shoreline stabilization and storm surge for contractors and communities alike. The 5-connected bulk bag system opens like an accordion to 15 LF and remains standing open to be filled by available machinery. Each bag stands 40" tall with a 3' wide footprint and can be stacked to any height. Using the pyramid technique and how "squared off" our bags are when filled, insures the tightest connection and reduces voids to almost zero. Deployment strategies differ from each flood and from each location. Certain deployments flow faster because of the terrain. One of our customers in Central Iowa deployed 3,000 LF in 6 hours with a tell-a-belt truck. The reason it took so long was the truck got stuck, twice. Another deployment strategy with MoDOT on I-55 south of St. Louis used 20 cement mixers and a sand/water slurry to deploy 3 miles in 13 hours to keep the last main artery of traffic open to Downtown St. Louis (New Years Day 2016). General Contractors across the United States use our patented 5-connected bulk bag system for cofferdams, stream diversions, erosion control, shoreline stabilization, surge protection, as well as a wide variety of other applications and projects. For larger projects, an in-house Spreader Bar lifting apparatus is designed specifically to lift one 5 bag system by crane, allowing 15 foot sections to be submerged underwater for the base of the cofferdam.
