Answer: Berkshire Humane Society is a private, nonprofit, open-admission animal support organization serving Berkshire County and surrounding areas. Our mission is to ensure the compassionate care, treatment, and placement of companion animals while promoting and improving the welfare of all animals through education and outreach. No companion animal is turned away from Berkshire Humane Society, and there is no restriction on the length of time that an adoptable companion animal is allowed to remain at the shelter. Some are with us for only days before they are adopted. Others may remain at the shelter for many months before they find their forever homes. Berkshire Humane Society offers many programs and services that help both people and animals. Some of these include Family Dog School, The SafePet Program, Humane Education, and our Pet Food Bank.
