Answer: The Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training (BACWTT) is an independent, non-profit adult training institute located on the beautiful 91-acre campus of Wildcat Canyon Community School in El Sobrante, CA. The Center was founded in 2001 by students seeking an in-depth Waldorf teacher program. Since then, it has sought to work out of the deep resources of Anthroposophy and Waldorf education. It is a full member of both the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN); and we are well known on this continent for providing highly engaging, thorough, and transformative programs. The Center offers a Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate Program, Anthroposophical Foundation Studies Program, and Healing Through Art- a postgraduate therapeutic visual arts program. During the summer months The Center offers an extensive Summer Program with Rejuvenation Courses for practicing teachers, as well as public courses in the arts and Waldorf pedagogy. Throughout the year the Center also offers Community Enrichment Classes, Workshops, and Lectures. Graduates of the certificate program are qualified to teach in any of over 1400 Waldorf schools worldwide at the pre-school, kindergarten, grade school, and high school levels. They are recognized as strong members of their school communities. Their thorough grounding in the arts and Anthroposophy enables them to take on active roles in their schools and larger communities.
