Our roots go back to the early 1960s when the Bobak family brought multi-generational traditions of meat seasoning, cooking, and customer service from Poland to Chicago. Soon after setting up shop in the U.S., demand for the Bobak familys meat products skyrocketed. With business booming, the Bobaks opened a small processing facility in 1975 that enabled them to make and sell products across the state of Illinois. After John Bobak joined the family business, demand grew exponentially. By the mid-1980s, John moved the Illinois-based processing to a new, USDA-certified facility where the family could make and sell their products across the United States, increasing revenue 100-fold in less than a decade. Further expansion a few years later added additional space, for a total of 110,000 square feet of production capacity, including an on-site bakery and pastry shop. After years of being emersed in the food industry and learning what worked, John was able to help his family business become a national supplier of meats, bakery, and other fine goods. As his knowledge of the industry grew so did Johns desire to help other food manufacturing businesses streamline their production processes with the best equipment at a fair price, which ultimately led to John branching out on his own. In 2015, John established Equipment Processing Solutions, known today as BAK Food Equipment. With a dedicated team of knowledgeable sales staff, talented engineers, and expert service technicians, BAK Food Equipment is focused on food-processing equipment installation, design, engineering, and service for customers nationwide.
