Answer: Autism and Behavior Services (ABS) is a non-profit company (501-c (3)) , designed to assist children, families and their community (school, church, etc.) affected by autism and other behavioral disabilities. ABS is located in Chattanooga, TN. Due to the rise in children being diagnosed with autism, the need for early intervention, treatment, and parent/school training is a must. Our services will focus on teaching methodologies utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is the most solid therapeutic approach to assist in helping people with problematic behaviors, and it is recognized as the most effective intervention for people with autism. Most private INS companies do not pay for these services at this time. Through fundraising and corporate sponsorship, ABS hopes to provide the most solid therapeutic approach at an affordable price to families through sliding scales and scholarships. ABS also emphasizes parent training as key component of behavioral intervention. The parents will learn all of the effective teaching procedures implemented by ABS consultants and therapists, thus becoming effective interventionists. When parents can become effective interventionists, this reduces the dependence on professional for providing all of the intervention hours. Mission Statement: To provide quality services to children with autism and related disabilities and their families by employing teaching methodologies from the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
