Answer: Athens Medical Group was founded in 1984 by Dr. G. Apostolopoulos as a response to the urgent need for provision of high quality medical services in Greece. Athens Medical Group is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange since 1991 and participates in all majors indexes of the Stock Market. The Group offers primary and secondary high quality healthcare services and is the market leader in the Greek Healthcare Market and the region of S.E. Europe. In Greece the Group owns and operates 8 hospital units in total offering top quality healthcare services totalling 1,200 patient beds, 2,900 full time employees, and a network of 2,800 highly respected physicians. Seven of hospital units are located in the greater Athens metropolitan area: Maroussi Clinic, Athens Paediatric Center, the new Maternity Clinic Gaia in Maroussi, Psychico Clinic, Paleo Faliro Clinic, Daphni Clinic, Peristeri Clinic. The eighth hospital, the Interbalkan European Medical Center is located in the Northern part of Greece, Thessaloniki, and is considered to be the most contemporary hospital facility in Europe (as reported by Medical School, Imperial College, UK).
