Answer: If you feel you want counseling but have no idea where to turn, Mimi da Silva, Ph.D., L.P.C., A.C.S. has over 30 years experience providing individual psychotherapy to high school students, college students, and adults. I will offer you a warm, accepting, respectful environment where you will be treated as a unique individual. If you are experiencing life transitions such as school, work, family, a loss or struggling with anxiety, depression, or self-esteem issues, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I have worked as a college counselor and professor, an employee assistance program counselor, and have teenagers myself. I work from a positive perspective that emphasizes each person's strengths, uniqueness and potentialities. I have a special interest in working with the LGBTQ population, as well as children of same-sex parents, or same-sex couples who have children or are exploring having a family of their own.
