Answer: Bikes are the world’s most fun, accessible way to get around. Posters are the world’s most fun, accessible art form. ARTCRANK™ brings them together. ARTCRANK is a show of bike-inspired posters that introduces people to independent artists and affordable, original works of art. Every ARTCRANK show features posters created by artists from the host community. Admission is always free, and posters are priced to let everybody take home at least one. Since its 2007 debut in Minneapolis, ARTCRANK has held shows in Portland, San Francisco, New York, Austin, Los Angeles, London and other cities. This year, ARTCRANK will add new shows in four cities, including a collaboration with Vélib’, the Paris bike share program. In every host city, we select a Cause Partner: A local, national or international organization that’s using bicycles to make a difference in communities, help people live better lives, or just make the world a better place. In concert with our sponsors, we raise money and awareness for these organizations. Some of the groups we’ve worked with include: World Bicycle Relief, People For Bikes, LIVESTRONG, International Mountain Biking Association, Springboard for the Arts, Bicycle Transportation Alliance, Bikes To Rwanda, Full Cycle Bike Shop, St. Louis Bicycle Works, and The Otesha Project UK.
