Answer: Goals To keep families together by helping them earlier, before kids are out of control. To strengthen the family unit before kids end up in delinquency or foster care. Arnette House is the front end of the Juvenile Justice System (the key is prevention and early intervention). Residential Services Arnette House provides Emergency Shelter services for youth ages 10 17 who are runaways, lock-outs, abandoned, homeless, truant or experiencing parent/child conflict. The Emergency Shelter provides basic living needs for up to 20 clients with additional emergency beds. We serve approximately 360 children each year. Children In Need of Services/Families In Need of Services (CINS/FINS) This is a prevention program administered by the Department of Juvenile Justice that provides assistance to parents whose children are ungovernable, runaway or truant. The youth is provided a structured living environment while receiving individual and family counseling. This program not only prevents the child from becoming involved in the Juvenile Justice system but prevents a possible abusive situation in a dysfunctional family. Non-Residential Family Crisis Intervention Counseling Masters Level Counselors provide counseling both on and off our main campus to help youth ages 6-17 and their families resolve crisis situations and stay together. This may include opening lines of communication, teaching effective conflict resolution skills, or reducing high-risk behaviors. Assist families in opening lines of communication Teach families effective conflict resolution skills Reduce high-risk antisocial behaviors Link families with needed community resources Teach effective parenting skills
