Answer: Amorphyx innovates at the intersection of materials science and electronics. The Company has developed a family of thin film electronic devices - transistor, diode and sensor - based on quantum tunneling physics. This family of devices promises to replace semiconductor-based electronic devices in analog/mixed-signal applications through the combination of higher performance, simplified manufacturing and order-of-magnitude lower manufacturing facility capex requirements. The Company combined expertise in amorphous metals and the creation of high-quality thin films in developing the worldwide-patented Amorphous Metal Nonlinear Resistor (AMNR) device and PECVD-based manufacturing process for LCD backplanes. The AMNR technology also serves as the foundation for the patent-pending Amorphous Metal Hot Electron Transistor (AMHET) device. AMHET is a drop-in replacement for thin film transistors in both flat-panel and flexible displays, eliminating the need for complexfabrication techniquesand compound semiconductor materials to produce high-performance displays. Ongoing AMHET development promises to produce a replacement for silicon and compound semiconductor-based transistors in the physical layer for wireless communications during 2017. The AMHET technology - with terahertz switching speeds and very low electronic noise - is idea for performance equivalence with existing semiconductor technologies in combination with order-of-magnitude cost reduction in the fabrication of RF, analog and data converter circuitry.
