Answer: Founded in 1985, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) is an academic membership society organization and joint accredited continuing education provider whose main educational mission is to educate health care professionals in the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental disorders. The organization is governed and operated by a Board of Directors, an Executive Committee, a Chief Executive Officer, and a variety of member committees that report to the Board of Directors.
