Answer: Serving as the longest-running clearing house in the airlines industry, Airlines Clearing House, Inc. is an airline-owned, not-for-profit facility for inexpensively expediting clearance and net settlement of accounts receivable. Over 350 airlines, airports, and other companies worldwide settle with us. For 75 years, Airlines Clearing House, Inc. has been recognized as a key contributor to the airline industry. In 1943, eighteen member airlines sought to provide a smooth, transparent net settlement process and established Airlines Clearing House Inc. Less than a year after forming, the first ACH settlement took place in January 1944 with interline receivable billings totalling over $2 million. Today, our participants net settle over $14 billion annually in receivable billings. In addition to airline settlements, Airlines Clearing House, Inc. also provides airlines and airports a process improvement opportunity: the ability to electronically settle their Passenger Facility Charge Settlements, further simplifying their revenue accounting processes. This service does not require ACH Membership in order to utilize.
