Answer: AEP Investment Management (AEPiM) was started in May 2008 to focus on developing real estate investment strategies that adhere to shariah-compliant principles. Built on the back of the track record of the AsiaEquity Partners ("AEP" acronym) which commenced its investment activities in Singapore since 2004, AEPiM raised equity capital from shariah-based investors from within Southeast Asia and the GCC. AEPiM has successfully executed the following strategies: 1) Basil Property Trust (vintage 2015) - raised USD200 million equity from 6 institutional and family office investors; the Fund acquired 3 properties in Singapore and Australia over the last 2 years. These properties are being aggregated into a proposed REIT portfolio which included two non-fund properties under our managed accounts, to form a new Commercial REIT in Singapore. The proposed REIT is to be sponsored by one of China's largest investment groups and is targeted for a Q3 2017 listing. 2) Securus Data Property Fund (vintage 2010) - as a joint venture fund with Keppel T&T, the Fund invested in Tier III Data Centre assets across Asia Pacific and Europe. Securus Fund raised USD220 million from 5 institutional and corporate investors to assemble a portfolio of 6 DC assets with an aggregated AUM of USD560 million. The Fund subsequently merged its portfolio with Keppel T&T's Singapore DC assets to form a new REIT which was listed on SGX in Dec 2014 and trading today as Keppel DC REIT. 3) Injaz-AEP Property Fund (vintage 2005) - managed under AsiaEquity Partners, the Fund jointly raised USD100 million with Abu Dhabi-based Injaz Mena Investment to execute value-add strategies in Asia Pacific. The Fund invested in 2 major assets in Singapore (60 Robinson Rd) and Malaysia (Kenanga International Building) which were comprehensively refurbished and sold "off-the-plan". Due to the financial crisis of 2008, the Fund ceased its investment activities and returned its principal equity to the investors in 2009.
