Answer: Ability Tree comes alongside families impacted by disability and equips organizations through recreation, education, support, and training (R.E.S.T). We resemble a Boys and Girls Club for families of children with special needs. Our Rest and Recreation Center in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, serves families affected by disability in Northwest Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, particularly those with children ages 3-18, and the only organization in the region providing an after-school program for children with special needs and their siblings. Since our founding in June of 2010, we have grown from one family with a vision to a financially sustainable organization. Each week, we provide daily after-school programs, weekend Parents Night Out events for children that give parents/caregivers a temporary rest, inclusive sports leagues, art programs, and a variety of community events for families of children with and without special needs. These programs are dramatically improving the quality of life of children and families impacted by disabilities.
