Answer: Mission Inspire, promote, and cultivate professionals by providing a platform for mentoring, networking and work-culture insights. Vision A world where all people can achieve equity, growth, and recognition in their careers. Overview Asian American Professional Association (AAPA) is a non-profit community service organization dedicated in advancing Asian American and minority professionals to become leaders in Corporate America. This volunteer organization of executives and educators who share the AAPA vision and are committed to inspire, develop and promote Asian Americans and minorities to achieve maximum career and professional leadership potential. AAPA has provided a multi-tier and year-long leadership development and mentoring program in Southern California for the last 18 years. Asian Americans have achieved great academic success and early job advancement, yet Asian Pacific Islanders in the executive rank are significantly below equitable representation. There is a major achievement gap between Asian Americans academic achievement and extensive work experience, when compared to the low numbers of Asian Americans in higher status leadership positions. Corporations can benefit from better understanding of this career gap within their Asian American workforce and to tap into this underutilized leadership talent pool.
