Answer: A New Entry is a grassroots, board-governed 501(c)(3) non-profit with a strong history of serving the Austin community since November 2004. A New Entry was incorporated in July 2005 and is 80% minority-governed. We substantially include target population representation on the board, staff and within volunteer and peer support operations. Our staff is made up of highly trained, educated and experienced individuals who have weathered lifes storms and choose to serve from grateful and passionate hearts. The idea which has become A New Entry, Inc. was established in November 2004 from experience working with formerly incarcerated persons who were released with little or no community reentry support. This lack of resources and supportive accountability often resulted in homelessness and corresponding high recidivism rates. The organization was initially formed to address the dearth of affordable, supportive, home-style housing for those reentering Travis County and recovering from difficult life decisions and circumstances that may have led to incarceration, homelessness, and/or substance abuse. ANE started as 6 man recovery supportive home to now serving up to 80 individuals a day. ANE added on affordable residential substance use treatment program in January 2014. Currently, we provide the following services: Residential Substance Use Treatment for men Christian Based Substance Use Treatment for women Recovery Supportive Housing Emergency housing for Veterans
