From humble beginnings, Mark Gilio and his father-in-law Almindo Feijoo founded A-1 Auto Electric (sister company to A-1 Alternative Fuel Systems) in 1988. Mark and Al had a goal to operate the finest full-service auto repair shop in Fresno. They were able to achieve their goal by building a strong reputation among the community for having unparalleled customer service. For years, air quality has been a growing concern in the Central Valley of California. Mark and Al recognized the problem early on and A-1 Alternative Fuel Systems was born in 1995 as A-1 converted their first vehicle to natural gas. Since then, A-1 has put thousands of alternative fuel vehicles on the road and remains a family owned and operated business headquartered in Fresno, CA.
